Columbia, Missouri Automotive Clutch Repair

All cars contain auto clutches whether it is manual or automatic. Manual transmission cars have more than one clutch. Cars need clutches because the engine spins all the time, but the car's wheels don't. The clutch allows us to engage a spinning engine to a non-spinning transmission. Clutches can last for more than 80,000 miles if they are maintained and gently used. They can start to break down at 35,000 miles.

The most common problem with a standard shift clutch is that the components wears out. Clutches may stick if they have a broken or stretched clutch cable, leaky or detective slave and/or master clutch cylinders, air in the hydraulic line, misadjusted linkage or mismatched clutch components. Another problem with your clutch may be associated with a worn throw-out bearing. If you are experiencing an auto clutch problem, please call to set up an appointment or stop by our shop. Our experienced technicians would love to help and get you back up and going.
